We use MailerLite to operate parts of The Confident Explorer's website and online business, including website pages, signup forms, subscriber management, email communications, digital-product checkout and delivery, and customer and order records.

Depending on how you interact with these services, MailerLite may process information such as your name, email address, signup information, consent status, purchase and order information, product-delivery information, IP address, approximate location, referral information and interactions with pages or emails.

Making a purchase does not by itself mean that you have agreed to receive ongoing marketing emails. Where an optional email-list signup is offered at checkout, you may choose whether to join the email list.

MailerLite processes information in connection with the services it provides to its customers and may also process certain account, technical or service information for its own operational purposes. MailerLite describes its privacy and data-processing practices in its own privacy documentation.

5. Purchases and payment processing

Purchases of The Confident Explorer digital products may be made through a MailerLite checkout connected to Stripe. Stripe provides payment-processing services for these transactions.

Stripe may collect and process information required to complete and protect a transaction, such as:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • billing information;
  • payment-card or other payment-method information;
  • transaction details;
  • device, security and fraud-prevention information.

The Confident Explorer does not directly receive or store your complete payment-card number. Stripe processes payment information according to its own privacy practices.

We may receive information relating to your transaction, such as your name, email address, product purchased, amount paid, payment status, transaction identifier and limited billing or payment information. We may use this information to complete and document your order, deliver the product, provide customer support, process refunds where applicable, maintain financial records and prevent fraud.

Stripe describes its handling of personal information in its Privacy Center and related privacy documentation.

6. Service providers

We use service providers to help operate The Confident Explorer. Personal information may be processed by these providers where reasonably necessary to provide their services.

Current providers may include:

  • MailerLite, for website pages, forms, subscriber management, email communications, digital-product checkout and delivery, and customer and order records;
  • Stripe, for payment processing, transaction management, receipts, security and fraud prevention;
  • Google Workspace, for business email and related communications;
  • Squarespace, for domain registration and DNS management;
  • file-storage, accounting, administrative, security or other technical service providers used to operate and protect the business.

Service providers may process personal information in countries outside Canada. When information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the country where it is processed, including lawful access by courts, law-enforcement or government authorities.

The Confident Explorer remains responsible for personal information under its control and takes reasonable steps to use service providers appropriate for the information and services involved.

We do not sell or rent subscriber or customer personal information.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

The website, checkout and services we use may rely on cookies, local storage or similar technologies.

These technologies may be used to:

  • operate website, checkout and form features;
  • maintain security;
  • remember preferences;
  • prevent fraud or misuse;
  • understand whether an email or page has been viewed or used;
  • support digital-product delivery and payment processing.

At the effective date of this policy, The Confident Explorer has not intentionally activated Google Analytics or the Meta Pixel on its pages.
